Nowadays people uses more and more there mobile device to connect with other people. Because of this companies and other people try to collect you data and mostly not with your permission. An example is tracking users via (free) public Wi-Fi networks. Because your device has an unique network device ID (MAC address) is it possible to follow you. But when you have installed iOS 8 or higher on your iPhone or iPad your device generates random MAC addresses. Because of this it’s impossible to follow you. An example of this technique is at Schiphol Airport. They can follow you by this MAC address. But if you have iOS 8 or higher it’s not possible anymore.
